How to Live Stream your Radio Channel over your Website!

To me listening Radio over Internet is a very fascinating experience as you get a good chance to listen to a Culture & Mood of a Country / City through a Radio channel which is not in your reach easily.

I started search of Indian Radio channels which can be heard over internet and I found out few good ones.

I always wanted to do a radio channel streamed over a website for a client or something but never got a chance to do so. Recently, one of a potential client requested to do the need full and finally I researched and understood the steps thoroughly which are as follows;

I hope they'll help to many others:

The basic idea is to send live broadcast to a streaming server which is actually responsible for live streaming and the web page will fetch data from the particular streaming server.

One need to keep the following in mind at first;
  • Format
  • Bit Rate
  • Number of Users
Format
Multiple formats are nowadays available for Live Radio Streaming.
  • Windows Media
  • mp3
  • mp4
  • etc..
Windows Media will be my choice because of which the user does not require any additional software to listen.

Bit Rate
Multiple Bit rates are also available which are as follows;
AM = 24 bit rate
FM = 64 bit rate
CD Quality = 128 bit rate

Number of Users
At the time of configuration of the streaming server one has to define
maximum number of users which will be active at the same time and willing to listen.

Windows Media Encoder is a freeware software which can be downloaded from Microsoft website for free and can be used to stream live broadcast to the streaming server.

A PC with sound Card is all what is needed with good internet connection which can broadcast voice to the streaming server with the help of Windows Media Encoder.

A link of the Streaming Server on the website will cause the Media Player to open when its clicked or one can even put an embedded Media Player on the website.

Volume = Bit Rate X Number Of Users
One gets charged for the bandwidth usage and it is determined with Number of users & bit rate.

Storage: No Storage is required for live streaming on the streaming server. It's required only for file based streaming.

Encoder IP & Port: A port number which will be provided by the streaming server solution provider at the time of the setup.

Hosting: Any hosting service provider can work for you.

I must have missed quite a lot in detail but still have tried to convey the basic and standard procedure to Live stream a radio channel over a website.

How to setup emails on Nokia E71

I hope this may help!

Following are the steps:
  1. Configure your official account on your Nokia E71.
  2. Enabled the IMAP Access feature of your Gmail account by going to Gmail Account >> Settings >> Forwarding & POP/IMAP >> Enable IMAP.
  3. Foward a copy of emails which is received to your official account to your Gmail account.
  4. Again configure another email account on your E71 which use the Nokia Free Email Service. In this iteration, bind your Gmail account to the Nokia Free Email Service.
  5. Compose an email from any other email account to your official account.
Explanation:

As soon as the email is received to your official account, it forwards a copy to your Gmail account.

Further more, as your Gmail Account receives the email it re-sends it to your Nokia Free email Service (Account).

When your Nokia Free Email Service (Account) receives the email, it will be notified on your E71 regarding receiving an email on your official Account from any of your other email account.

Reply:

When replied to that particular email, it is received to your other email account via your Gmail account.

Therefore, you can now send emails from either side of your official account.
